[Pastor Joe: Serving Up Sermons]
07/28/2010
By Dieleman, Joe & Marcia
The last of our series on "Reformed Headlines" - a Biblical View of the news - focused on the over abundance of bad news. It was amazing how many of us not only hear about bad news (the criminal kind that threatens our safety and wellbeing) but have first-hand experience as victims of violence. So, does God want us to live in fear and paronoia, not trusting anyone? If you want to read Psalm 27 again for just respond to what you remember from the sermon, add your comments below or answer one of these questions:
1. How has God become for you your light, salvation and stronghold?
2. What are some practical ways we can live fearlessly in the comfort of God's presence?
3. Freedom from fear also means freedom to die fearlessly should we become victims of extreme violence. What comfort do we have in Jesus that replaces the fear of death with faith that overcomes even the fear of death itself?
